In spring 2020, LPO arkitekter in Longyearbyen and the SSSI started a collaborative project where we carried out focus group discussions about Longyearbyen as a physical frame. The project is part of a needs assessment supported by the Design-driven Innovation Program from DOGA (Norwegian Design and Architecture Center) and carried out as a continuation of the project Rett Plass Rett Form.

The aim of the focus groups was to find out how people living in Longyearbyen perceive the city, how they use it, and what needs and dreams they have for the place (see more information here).

On October 15th, we presented the first results of this project to planners in Lokalstyre and Sysselmannen at the office of LPO in Longyearbyen. A public presentation of the results will follow soon.
